[Latex2rtf-users] latex2rtf doesn't start

Dear latex2rtf users,

I've been using your latex2rtf program to convert latex files to rtf for
the last 6 months or so, and it worked pretty well, until recently when I
performed an update of my Windows system (I'm using Windows 7 64 bits). I
have the exact same problem as another user pointed out using the same
system as I (see [Latex2rtf-users] l2rshell.exe
<https://sourceforge.net/p/latex2rtf/mailman/message/30690036/> ).
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, to no apparent success,
and also tried to run it in a ''normal'' window as it was suggested to the
person who had the same problem.

I think it might be due to the windows updates and not the fact that I'm
running on a 64 bits system, since the program worked just a couple weeks
ago on the exact same computer.

I also tried other latex converters, but none of them work as well as this
one (or at least when it used to work), plus the other ones are not free.

I desperately need to convert my files into rtf (or word), so can you help
me please?

I still do not have access to a 64bit Windows for testing,
so I cannot check why l2rshell.exe doesn't start.

Instead, you can use a workaround and start latex2rt.exe from the
command prompt.
Copy the file l2r.bat from the folder where latex2rtf is installed
(probably C:\Program Files(x86)\latex2rtf )
to the working folder containing your LaTeX files, and modify it so that
the paths in l2r.bat reflect the folder names where the required
programs are installed in your system.
For ease of use, replace %2 to %9 in the line
latex2rt %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
with your required options, e.g.
latex2rt %1 -M12
for converting all equations to bitmaps.
